vs. Jesuit
March 24, 2004

Brother Martin and Jesuit opened district play to a full stadium on a cool and windy night.  Brother Martin graciously delayed the game for 30 minutes to allow Jesuit players to return from spring testing at LSU.  Many of last year's loyal parents and several parents from other Brother Martin baseball teams joined the current varsity parents to cheer on the 2004 Crusaders.

Senior Brad Treuting drew the district-opener start and held the Blue Jays scoreless for 3 innings.  In the fourth inning the Blue Jays got 6 runs on 8 hits.  Justin Marocco came in with 1/3 of the inning to go.  It wasn't until the top of the seventh that the Crusaders were able to get something going where they scored 3 runs, but that wasn't enough to overcome the 8 runs the Blue Jays had posted.

Matt Thorne was the top hitter for the evening going 2 for 3, and when Andrew Russo came in to replace Matt after he twisted his ankle on a run to first, Andrew ripped a double.

Welcome back to Thomas Keegan.
We'll miss you this year.
Good luck for a speedy recovery.
