Brad Treuting took the mound for the long-awaited game against the East Ascension Spartans.  In the top of the first inning, as the Crusaders once again enjoyed being the home team, the Crusaders gave up one run on one hit with one Sader error.  In the bottom of the first, Josh Radovich reached first on a walk and advanced to third on a Spartan overthrow.  Matt Adams came to the plate and picked up the RBI.  The Crusaders ended the inning with one run on 0 hits and 1 Spartan error.

In the second, the Crusaders had a nice double play on a ball hit to Stephen Landry who stepped on second and then fired it over to Chris McIntyre at first who made a nice scoop to complete the DP.  There were 0 runs on 0 hits and 0 Crusader errors.  In the bottom of the second, BJ Rodrigue walked and stole second.  Matt Thorne followed with a walk.  Ryan Berry's hit became a fielder's choice and an overthrow to first that scored BJ.  The inning ended with the Crusaders up 2 - 1.  In the top of the third, the Spartans pulled ahead of the Crusaders scoring 3 runs on 2 hits and 0 errors.  In the bottom of the 3rd, Josh Radovich led off with a single.  Matt Adams followed with a double.  Chris McIntyre walked.  BJ Rodrigue singled scoring a run for the Crusaders.  The inning ended with 1 run on 3 hits with 0 Spartan errors.

In the fourth, the Spartans were retired quickly three-up and three-down.  In the bottom of the fourth, the Crusader bats came alive.  Ryan Berry opened the inning with a double followed by a single from Stephen Landry.  Josh Radovich laid down a nice bunt with two strikes to advance the runners and reached first safely on an errant throw.  Thomas Keegan was then hit by a pitch.  Matt Adams and BJ Rodrigue followed with singles.  After a couple of Crusader walks, Stephen Landry singled again.  After Josh Radovich walked, Thomas Keegan hit a single scoring 2 RBIs.  Matt Adams returned to the plate again to hit another single scoring another Crusader run.  By the time the inning had ended, Stephen and Matt had 2 singles a piece in the same inning and the Crusaders had 10 runs on 7 hits and 2 Spartan errors.

In the top of the 5th, the Spartans had 1 hit and 0 runs with 0 Crusader errors.  In the bottom of the 5th, BJ Rodrigue walked and Ryan Hebert entered the game to pinch run stealing second on a wild pitch, and then stealing third. Andrew Russo got a nice hit to score Ryan ending the game.  The final score was 14 - 4 in favor of the Brother Martin Crusaders.
