vs. St. Amant

Once again the Crusaders began as the visiting team giving them the opportunity to score first, and they did.  Andrew Velez was the first batter to the plate and he was walked.  Chris McIntyre came to the plate hitting a single that scored Andrew, giving the Crusaders a 1 - 0 lead in the top of the first.  Lance Lepine started on the mound for the Crusaders in this game and got the Gators 3-up and 3-down in the first inning.

In the second the Crusaders went scoreless, but the Gators scored 2 runs on 1 hit and 1 Crusader error.  In the third, the Crusaders combined for several hits.  Andrew Velez began the inning with a walk, Thomas Keegan laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Andrew, Matt Adams hit a double scoring Andrew, Chris McIntyre hit a two run homerun, B.J. Rodrigue walked, Matt Thorne hit a double, and Josh Radovich hit a double in the gap to score the two runners on base.  In all, 5 runs were scored in this inning off of 4 hits.  The Gators went 3-up and 3-down.

In the 4th, Matt Adams got another single, but the Crusaders were unable to score.  The Gators got 2 runs on 2 hits with 1 Crusader error.  In the 5th, the Crusaders remained scoreless.  The Gators scored 2 runs on 2 hits bringing the score to 6 - 6.  The Crusaders went scoreless again in the top of the 6th.  Chris Cappo made his debut in the bottom of the 6th inning.  The Gators managed to score 4 runs on 2 hits bringing the score to 10 - 6 in favor of the Gators.

In the top of the 7th, Matt Thorne and
Ryan Berry got base hits, but the Crusaders were unable to score any runs.  Despite the good hitting, it was a tough day in St. Amant for the Crusaders.
