The first game at St. Amant was against the Lutcher Bulldogs. Josh Radovich took the mound to begin the game. The first inning was not kind to the Crusaders with the Bulldogs scoring 3 runs on 6 hits. In the top of the second, Andrew Russo doubled and Stephen Landry got a hit to drive in the run to make it a 3 - 1 ball game. Chip Gaillot and Ryan Berry walked, but were left stranded. In the bottom of the 2nd, Josh allowed only 1 hit, struck out one, and produced 2 fly-outs.
In the 3rd, the Crusaders were held hitless and the Bulldogs went three-up and three-down. In the 4th, Chip Gaillot walked again and Evan Alvarez laid down a nice sacrifice bunt to move Chip around. Thomas Keegan was able to get a base hit, but the Crusaders were unable to score those men left on base. Andrew Velez entered the game partway through the 4th inning to pitch in relief. This inning saw the Bulldogs score 3 runs on 1 hit with 2 Crusader errors. The score was 6 - 1 in favor of the Bulldogs.
In the fifth, the Crusaders scored 1 run on 0 hits and one Bulldog error. In the bottom of the 5th, Ryan Hebert entered to play third, Tony Coletti entered to play catcher, and John Wilson entered to play second. The Bulldogs went three-up three-down with Evan Alvarez making 2 nice catches in centerfield. In the 6th both teams went scoreless. In the top of the 7th, the Crusaders pulled the score to within one with the bases loaded through a combo of Bulldog walks and errors, but were unable to score the tying run.
The game ended with a Bulldog victory 6 - 5. Andrew Russo made a couple of nice diving catches in the outfield, and Austin Condon made several appearances as a pinch runner throughout the game.
